Zoumana

My name is Zoumana Sidibé, born October 28, 1989 in Bamako, Malian by nationality. I am one of the young photographers of the new generation in Mali. I have been passionate about images and drawings since childhood. I continued this passion by visiting the photo school “Cadre de promotion pour la formation en photographie“ (CFP) in Bamako in 2012 where I studied commercial and conceptual photography, studio and art photography.

In 2014 I was awarded a certificate. Subsequently, I obtained an internship at the CFP specializing in film and digital photo labs. Apart from the work in the CFP, I was responsible for digitalizing the prints of the Malik Sidibé studio, participated in projects, exhibitions and reports as a photographer. Some of my work includes „The Light in the Eyes“ (photographic EMOI, 2013); „The personal portrait“ on the River Niger in 2016; „Portrait of Africa“ (African Biennale of African Photography in Bamako in 2017. With the support of the Fondation Oumou Dilly I spent six months (August 2017- January 2018) in Accra to learn English.
