Lerato Posholi

Ms Lerato Posholi is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Researching Education and Labour (REAL Centre), University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She holds an MA in Philosophy from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her current research interests are in curriculum studies, philosophy of education, and epistemology.

Her PhD project broadly looks at the relationship between knowledge and power. She is interested in current debates about the question of knowledge in the curriculum.

She participated in the third CASB/CODESRIA Summer School programme through which she earned a visiting scholarship from the Fondation Oumou Dilly to be at the University of Basel from April 2019 to March 2020. She is co-hosted by the Europainstitute and the Centre for African Studies at the University of Basel.

Prior to joining REAL as a PhD Fellow in 2017, Ms Posholi worked in the Philosophy Department at the University of the Witwatersrand as a sessional lecturer for two years after completing her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the same department. She also worked as a writing consultant and writing fellow at the Wits Writing Centre from 2013 to 2016.
