Rémy Ngamije invited as a visiting author at the 25th anniversary edition of the international literature festival berlin (ilb)

The 25th edition of the international literature festival berlin (ilb) took place from 11 to 24 September 2025. With the support of the Fondation Oumou Dilly, Rémy Ngamije participated in a dual capacity: both as an author and as the director of the Doek Literary Festival in Windhoek, Namibia.
In his authorial role, he presented „Only Stars Know the Meaning of Space“, a collection of short prose that he characterizes as a “literary mixtape.” As a festival director, he contributed to „Connecting Literary Festivals“, a networking forum that brought together festival leaders from around the world to reflect on different curatorial practices as well as the challenges and emerging possibilities of international literary exchange and collaboration.
Rémy Ngamije’s presence at the ilb not only offered incisive intellectual engagement but also strengthened the visibility and influence of African perspectives within the global literary discourse.
La 25e édition du festival international de littérature de berlin (ilb) s’est déroulée du 11 au 24 septembre 2025. Avec le soutien de la Fondation Oumou Dilly, Rémy Ngamije y a participé à double titre : en tant qu’auteur et en tant que directeur du festival littéraire Doek à Windhoek, en Namibie.
En tant qu’auteur, il a présenté « Only Stars Know the Meaning of Space » , un recueil de textes courts en prose qu’il qualifie de « mixtape littéraire ». En tant que directeur du festival, il a contribué à « Connecting Literary Festivals », un forum de réseautage qui a réuni des responsables de festivals du monde entier afin de réfléchir aux différentes pratiques curatoriales ainsi qu’aux défis et aux possibilités émergentes en matière d’échanges et de collaborations littéraires internationaux.
La présence de Rémy Ngamije à l’ilb a non seulement permis un engagement intellectuel incisif, mais a également renforcé la visibilité et l’influence des perspectives africaines dans le discours littéraire mondial.
